Invite your team
Getting other people into your board takes one of three gestures. The conceptual model lives in Workspaces & access; this page is about the action.
Three ways to add people
Section titled “Three ways to add people”- Invite a workspace member — a full participant who can create their own boards and see shared workspace boards. The “adding a teammate” flow. Sent by email; they create an account and appear in the member list.
- Invite a guest — a limited participant who sees only the boards they’re added to, not the workspace’s other boards or members. The “client review” or “stakeholder demo” flow.
- Share a board — make a board accessible to specific people (members, guests, or a shareable link) and choose their role: Manager, Editor, or Viewer.
Member or guest? It’s about your tracker
Section titled “Member or guest? It’s about your tracker”This is about audit attribution: every tracker write carries the identity of the member who made it, into both your tracker’s audit log and CardBoard’s.
| Situation | Use |
|---|---|
| Will edit cards that sync to your tracker | Workspace member |
| Will create boards | Workspace member |
| Long-term teammate, full participant | Workspace member |
| Stakeholder review, no tracker editing | Guest |
| Client or contractor commenting only | Guest |
| External one-time feedback, no account | Public link (Viewer) |
Editor is the right default for most collaborators — reserve Manager for board owners and admins. See Collaborators and Permissions.
