Connect your tracker

Connecting a tracker turns a CardBoard board into a synced planning surface. This walks you through one connection, one board, and one linked card.

Steps

1. Pick your tracker: Azure DevOps, Jira, Linear, Shortcut, or Trello. Connecting needs a paid plan.
2. Authorize CardBoard.
   • Azure DevOps and Jira: sign in with your own tracker account from the board’s tracker drawer. You do this once, and every member who edits linked cards does the same.
   • Linear: a workspace admin connects Linear once for everyone, from Settings → Integrations. If you’re not an admin, forward this step to one.
   • Shortcut and Trello: add your API token (Shortcut) or API key and token (Trello) in your personal Integrations settings. Every member who edits linked cards does the same.
3. Connect the board from its tracker drawer. Pick one project (Azure DevOps, Jira), team (Linear, Shortcut), or Trello board. A board connects to exactly one. Shortcut also needs a one-time webhook pasted into Shortcut; the drawer shows you how.
4. Link your first card. Drag an item from the drawer onto the map, or send cards you’ve planned to the tracker to create items from them.
5. Know what syncs. The work fields sync (title, description, status, and more depending on the tracker). Position never does, so rearrange the map freely. See the field table in Trackers.

Sync only the issues you care about

When connecting Jira, choose Use a Jira filter to sync only the issues matching a saved Jira filter, for example to leave out Done work. Create the filter in Jira first (“Save as” on a search), then pick it when you connect the board.
