Reactions

A reaction is an emoji on a card. Tap to add, tap again to remove. Multiple people can react with the same emoji, and multiple emojis are allowed on the same card.

Reactions are lightweight feedback. A thumbs-up on a story says “I’m in.” A question mark says “this needs discussion.” A heart says “yes, please.” There’s no fixed meaning — pick conventions that work for your team, or just use whatever feels right in the moment.

Reactions work on any map type and on any card. There’s no setup. The reaction count is visible on the card, and a drawer surfaces all reactions across the board so you can scan the room.

Note

Reactions replaced an earlier feature called Voting. Voting had a special mode (open and close voting, count results, declare winners) that turned out to be more workflow than teams wanted. Reactions are always-on and weight-neutral — no winner, no count threshold. The signal is “how does the group feel about this card,” not “which card wins.”

Caution

Don’t rebuild voting on top of reactions. If you need a formal decision process, use a structured map type (a prioritization matrix, a 2×2) instead of counting thumbs.
