Create your first map
This tutorial walks you through making a real board, end to end, in under five minutes. We’ll follow a single example throughout — mapping a sign-up flow — so pick something similarly tangible if you’d rather use your own.
- Click “New board.” Find the New board button in your workspace.
- Pick a map type. We’ll use a story map — the most familiar starting point. (See Map types for the full catalog.)
- Name your board. Short and clear — “Sign-up flow.”
- Add your first card. Click the canvas, type a title, hit enter.
- Add a few more. Arrange them into columns or rows — on a story map, left-to-right is the order a user moves through the flow.
- Add a divider. Name a section (“MVP”). You just named a release — the cards in that region now belong to an outcome.
- Invite a teammate (optional). See Invite your team.
- Connect your tracker (optional). See Connect your tracker.
