April 2026
Boards became far more expressive — map archetypes, outcomes, and a Markdown editing drawer all landed.
New
- Map archetypes. Boards can take on different shapes for different kinds of work, including process-map shapes and diagram creation from a Mermaid-style modal.
- Outcomes. Group and track outcomes across a board, with a dedicated outcomes drawer and a selection strip that highlights matching cards.
- Markdown drawer. Edit board content as Markdown in a full editor (powered by CodeMirror) with GitHub-style formatting, an outline view, and create/edit inline.
- Process-map shapes. Render elements as SVG shapes (including a shape picker) for clearer process and flow diagrams.
- Drag items onto the map. Drag an item from the sync drawer directly onto the board.
- Connection hover preview. Hover a connection nub to preview the link before you draw it.
Improved
- Card connections. Connections are more flexible and update live across all board types, with smoother drawing and accurate preview positioning.
- Outcome accuracy. Outcome membership stays correct automatically as cards move and change.
Fixed
- Cloning a board with outcomes bound to dividers works correctly.
- Reaction picker and emoji selection are reliable.
- Numerous canvas interaction fixes: edge-pan dragging stays under the cursor, context menus dismiss cleanly, and newly created cards are immediately interactive.
Behind the scenes: completed the removal of legacy JavaScript libraries and an early read-only version of the CardBoard MCP server for AI tools.
